Jacob Prewet to William Alexander
This Indenture made the 9th day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seven Between Jacob Prewet of the County of Knox and State of Tennessee of the one part and William Alexander of the County and State aforesaid of the other part wittnesseth that the said Jacob Prewet for and in consideration of the sum of twelve hundred dollars to him in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath and by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto the said William Alexander his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land containing three hundred acres lying and being in the County of Knox and Hindses Valley including the Cave Spring and the place whereon the said Alexander now lives, on the waters of Hickory Creek, a branch of Clinch, Beginning at a pine on the side of Beaver Creek Ridge, Thence south forty five degrees west three hundred poles to a pine thence south forty five degrees east one hundred and sixty poles to a black oak on the side of a ridge. Thence north forty five degrees east three hundred poles to a red oak on the side of the black oak ridge. Thence a direct line to the beginning, which tract of land was granted to John Adair by Patent No. 320 dated 24th day of June 1793. With all and singular the woods waters watercourses profits commodities hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the said tract of land belonging or appertaining and the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders, rents and issues thereof and all the estate right title interest property claim and demand of him the said Jacob Prewet his heirs and assigns forever of in and to the same and way part and parcel thereof, either in law or equity to have and to hold the said three hundred acres of land with the appurtenances unto the said William Alexander his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful title claim and demand of him the said Jacob Prewet, and all and every person whatsoever will warrant and defend by these presents. In witness whereof the said Jacob Prewet hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year above written.

State of Tennessee,
Knox County, October Sessions 1809. The execution of the within deed of conveyance was duly proven in open court by the oath of John Thorlton and Joseph Alexander the subscribing witnesses thereto and admitted to record. Let it be registered the State Tax having been paid to me according to law. In testimony whereof, I, Charles McClung, Clerk of the Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions for the County aforesaid by John A. Gamble my Deputy, have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal of office this 9th day of October 1809.

This Indenture made the 1st day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixteen between William Alexander Sen. of the County of Knox, State of Tennessee of the one part and David L. Alexander and William Alexander Jun. of the County of Knox, State of Tennessee of the other part wittnesseth that the said William Alexander for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars to him in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath and by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto the said David L. Alexander and William Alexander Jun., a certain tract or parcel of land containing two hundred acres lying and being in the County of Knox on Hickory in Hindses Valley Beginning at a white oak and red oak on the south west side of the spring branch thence south forty five degrees west two hundred poles to a pine corner to a three hundred acre survey granted by the state of North Carolina to John Adair then with a line thereof south forty five degrees east one hundred and sixty poles to a black oak on the black oak ridge then north forty five degrees east with said line two hundred poles to a stake then crossing the valley north forty five degrees west one hundred sixty poles to the beginning. With all and singular the woods waters watercourses profits commodities hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the said tract of land belonging or appertaining and the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders, rents and issues thereof and all the estate right title interest property claim and demand of him the said William Alexander Sen. his heirs and assigns forever of in and to the same and every part and parcel thereof, either in law or equity to have and to hold the said two hundred acres of land with the appurtenances to the said David L. Alexander and William Alexander Jun. their heirs and assigns forever against the lawful title claim and demand of all and every person or persons whatsoever will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In witness whereof the said William Alexander Sen. hath hereunto set his hand and seal the date above written.
