David Copeland to William Alexander
This Indenture made and entered into this twenty third day of April one thousand seven hundred and ninety eight between David Copeland of Greene County and State of Tennessee of the one part and William Alexander of the County aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said David Copeland for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred and thirty three dollars and one third legal money to him the said Alexander before the signing sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof the said Copeland doth hereby acknowledge hath hereby bargained sold aliend released and confirmed unto him the said William Alexander his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land containing two hundred and sixty eight acres more or less situated on Lick Creek a branch of Nolichucky River in the County and State aforesaid whereon the said Alexander now lives being part of a Tract granted to John Denton and conveyed from him to the said David Copeland Beginning at a white walnut on the south side of Kirkendals Branch being a line of the original Tract and running thence south thirty one west ninety two poles and a half to a black walnut on the side of a hill then south fifty seven east two hundred and thirty five poles to two sower woods and the edge of a small sink then south twelve east ninety five poles to a black oak on a line of said original tract north eighty two east two hundred and twenty nine poles and an half along said tract line to two pines a corner thereof then north fifty six west four hundred and seventy nine poles to the beginning. Together with all woods waters mines minerals hereditaments and appurtenances to the said land belonging or appertaining to have and to hold unto the said William Alexander his heirs and assigns forever and the said Copeland doth bind himself his heirs executors and administrators to warrant forever defend all and singular the aforesaid premises unto him the said William Alexander his heirs and assigns as a free clear indefeasible right of inheritance in for simple against the lawful claim of all person or persons whatever public and only excepted and in testimony whereof the said David Copeland hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written.

William Alexander to George Davis
This Indenture made and entered into this twenty second day of October in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and ten between William Alexander of the County of Knox and State of Tennessee of the one part and George Davis of Greene County and State of Tennessee of the other part Witnesseth that the William Alexander aforesaid hath granted and sold and by these presents, doth grant bargain sells convey and confirm unto the aforesaid George Davis his heirs executors administrators, a certain tract or parcel of land containing two hundred and sixty eight acres more or less for and in consideration of the sum of fifteen hundred dollars to him the said Alexander paid by the aforesaid George Davis, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged., bounded as follows, Beginning at a white walnut on the south side of Kirkendals Branch being a line tree of the original survey of which this is a point and running thence south thirty one west ninety two poles to a black walnut on the north side of a hill, south fifty seven east two hundred and thirty five poles to two sower woods, south twelve east ninety five poles to a black oak on a line of said original tract north eighty two east two hundred and twenty nine poles and one half to a pine thence north fifty six west four hundred and seventy nine poles to the beginning. Together with all woods waters mines minerals hereditaments and appurtenances to the said land belonging or in any wise appertaining to have and to hold unto the said George Davis his heirs, executors administrators, forever and the said William Alexander doth bind himself his heirs executors and administrators, to warrant and forever defend the before designated tract of land together with the appurtenances from himself his heirs and likewise from the claim of all and singular every person or manner of persons either in law or equity unto the before named George Davis his heirs as is a right of inheritance, In testimony whereof the before named William Alexander hath hereunto set my name and affixed my seal the day and date above written.
